Aimed at enhancing the ‘airport experience’, Sydney International Airport’s Terminal 1 underwent improvements which assume a luxury mall-like ambience for passengers, visitors and staff in which to revel.
Improving Sydney Airport in terms of its perceived passenger experience was top of mind with this project. In addition to the new retail and dining precincts, direct pathways, clearer sight-lines, better way-finding and seating closer to gates, all helped to add to the comfort of the some 30,000 passengers that navigate through the airport each day.
Major works included demolition and re-servicing of existing retail outlets, tiling and ceilings throughout Terminal 1 concourse area over 5,000sqm. EDT provided detailed staging and methodology in order to maintain passenger and airport operations remained viable 24/7.
Additional projects for fit-out works for Heinemann, Bvlgari, Bacardi and
the Singapore Airlines lounge were also completed.
